Public Page 30-Second Check

Use this check when a public page, article, or project explanation feels close but not quite clear. The page does not need to explain everything in 30 seconds. It needs to make the first layer understandable fast enough that a reader knows why to keep going.

The Check

  • Can a new reader find the main point in one quick scan?
  • Does the opening give enough context to trust the page?
  • Is private background translated into public meaning?
  • Is there one clear next path after the point lands?
  • Would the page still make sense to someone who did not watch the work happen?

Fixes

Problem Fix
The point is buried Rewrite the first two sentences so the main idea appears immediately.
The context feels heavy Keep only the details that help a new reader trust the point.
The page sounds private Replace backstage sequence with the decision, tradeoff, or result.
The ending feels closed Add one related article, work page, KB entry, or tag path.
