Article Or Update?

Use an article when the explanation should still help after the moment passes. Use an update when the useful message is only that something changed right now.

Durable Article

Write an article when the page needs to preserve:

  • what changed
  • why it mattered
  • what decision shaped the result
  • what pattern someone else could reuse
  • where the reader should go next

Example: “I simplified the work page so a first-time visitor can see projects, systems, workflows, skills, and KB material without needing a private map.”

Short Update

Use a short update when the value is mainly time-bound:

  • a thing shipped
  • a page changed
  • a project paused
  • a new article is available
  • a next step is underway

Example: “The Work page now links to the first KB, Skills, and Workflows sections.”

Simple Decision

  • If it teaches a decision, write the article.
  • If it only signals movement, keep it short.
  • If it needs reusable detail, create or link a KB entry.
  • If it depends on private context, reshape it before publishing.
